Network Rail has distributed this letter to residents living close to the station, advising that work will shortly be underway to lengthen the platforms to take 12 coach trains. The work is due to be completed by May 2012 but sadly there is no indication of when we might expect to see the longer trains. Interesting to note that there are already "12 car" signs at the end of the London-bound platforms.
